Located adjacent to Takapuna Art Supplies, an 80 square metre dedicated studio space, filled with easels, drawing horses, appropriate lighting and props.
Our goals are to offer aspiring artists and professionals the opportunity to develop and expand their understanding of drawing and painting, and to instruct in the practical application of these skills.
Beginning or advanced, novice or professional, individuals at all levels of experience participate in study and learning alongside one another. Our instructors include prominent artists who are active in their fields.
PAINTING In The Evenings

Paint in a relaxed atmosphere using acrylic, oils, watercolor or any dry medium. Anything goes! with a focus on composition and color harmony in your paintings. Demos will be given. All levels of experience welcome.
HEAD & FIGURE PAINTING

Instruction on the fundamentals of figure and head drawing and painting. Beginning with instruction and demonstration of proportion, anatomy, lighting, composition and color. Class sessions will also include instruction and demonstration of the use of various media. For all levels of experience.
WATERCOLOUR & OIL PAINTING

Instruction and demonstrations on the use of watercolour and oil painting with subject matter including, landscape, still life & outdoor painting. Learn how to incorporate the figure into the landscape. Possible plein air outings, if there is enough interest.
Figure Drawing & Painting Workshops

Saturdays 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
The Workshop starts again on the 21st of January.
Figure drawing and painting workshops in which artists may choose the style and method of rendering the model. Intended as a setting in which to gain additional experience in drawing or painting, or as a chance to experiment with styles and techniques. For artists at all levels of experience of development. This workshop is untutored, but there will be help if required.
Poses will be 4 hours so that artists can complete an Alla Prima painting or, move around the studio for shorter studies.
Easels and Drawing Horses available. Seating is on a first come basis. Odourless mediums and solvents, only. $20 a session including light refreshments. Bookings not essential.

- Prepaid A4 Satchel (nationwide): $5 per order †
- Local (North Shore): $5.50 per order *
- Shorthaul (within 150kms): $7.50 per order *
- Rest of North Island: $9.30 per order *
- South Island: $10.40 per order *
† Prepaid Satchel is available for some smaller items that will fit into an A4 envelope. Please do not select the satchel option if your goods are breakable, easily damaged or flammable.
* Oversized items may be charged an additional amount - once you have selected the items you need proceed to checkout to see the exact costs.
