The surface is not as abrasive as regular Colourfix and was partly developed in conjunction with the manufacturers of PanPastels and an ideal ground for their products. 4 itemsOften an excessive amount of gum turpentine is used as a substitute for a ‘lean’ medium. Too much gum turpentine ‘denatures’ the oil paint in the lean layers. This leaves an underbound pigment when the paint dries which can be easily brushed off. Medium No. 1 contains the minimum formulated account of Stand Oil to cross-link the medium and the oil paint, preventing the breakdown of the vehicle and ensuring permanency.

Art Spectrum Colourfix Primer can be applied with brushes, sponges, rollers etc. straight from the pot. 20 colours are available, including Natural (Clear). All colours can be intermixed, or tinted with Art Spectrum Inks or Gouache, to create new shades.
